BPS22 opens its 2026–2027 season with Sculpture is not dead, the first major exhibition in Belgium by Anita Molinero (Floirac, 1953). A major figure on the art scene, the French artist of Spanish origin came to prominence in the early 2000s with powerfully expressive sculptures made from discarded materials that she burns, slashes, breaks, compresses, assembles or deforms. Drawing on wide- ranging and disparate influences, Anita Molinero has created a body of work that defies categorisation and, whatever she may say, can be read as a scathing indictment of decades of unchecked productivism.
