À la belle vue de l’abattoir
//= $catTxt; ?>BeCraft takes over the Grand Hall of the former Mons Slaughterhouses with an exhibition bringing together some sixty artists from twelve European countries, centred on the theme of slaughterhouses. This European group exhibition marks twenty years of the association’s presence on the site and explores the imaginaries, histories and contemporary issues associated with slaughterhouses. Whether through acts of critique, remembrance, poetic expression or analytical inquiry, the works invite an informed and sensitive engagement with these sites of passage, abandonment, production and transformation — places that today also stand as heritage. In doing so, the exhibition opens a space for reflection on what slaughterhouses reveal about our societies: our relationship to the living, to acts of production, to traces, and to disappearance.
