With chrysalis, the BPS22 Musée d’art de la Province de Hainaut inaugurates a new summer event dedicated to its collections. Each summer, a selection of works will emerge from the shadows of the storage rooms into the museum’s light, offering a renewed and singular perspective on the collection. This first instalment focuses on the fragile, unstable moment of transformation, as evoked by the term chrysalis. Derived from the Greek, chrysalis refers to the state of latency in which matter unravels and prepares to be reborn in another form.
