Art of Remembrance
//= $catTxt; ?>From 9 July to 23 August 2026, the Bastogne War Museum presents Art of Remembrance, a contemporary art exhibition exploring the relationship between artistic creation and the memory of the Second World War. Through an evocative and immersive parcours, the exhibition invites visitors to engage with history in new ways, leaving space for emotion, personal experience and unexpected narratives. Featuring works by Rebekka Bauer, Raphaël Dallaporta, Juhana Moisander and Gail Ritchie, the exhibition brings together artworks developed during residencies at several European sites of memory: the Nuto Revelli Foundation, the Sybir Memorial Museum, La Coupole WWII Museum and the Bastogne War Museum. Combining glass installations, natural materials, photography, video and sound, the exhibition unfolds as a layered and immersive experience that reflects on the fragile and ever-evolving nature of memory. The participating artists highlight perspectives that often remain overlooked, from the role of women in resistance movements to family transmission and the ways memory is embedded in landscapes and the non-human world. Following earlier presentations in the Netherlands (Nijmegen), Italy (Turin) and Poland (Białystok), the exhibition now continues its European tour.
