Huberty & Breyne Gallery, Brussels | Châtelain, presents Newton’s Sleep, a two-person exhibition by Milan Jespers (BE) and Marcello Nitti (IT). The exhibition runs from Friday 6 November to Saturday 12 December 2026. Taking its title from a poem by William Blake, the project is rooted in the 1815 eruption of Mount Tambora, which triggered major climatic upheavals and gave rise to the “Year Without a Summer”. Against this historical backdrop, the artists explore the transition from a magical worldview to the industrial and scientific age. They question this contemporary “sleep of reason”, in which the mathematical measurement of reality seems to have taken precedence over imagination and emotion.
