Nadia Khodossievitch-Léger (1904-1982) was a significant figure in 20th-century art.e Through more than 150 works, the retrospective Nadia Léger: A Woman of the Avant-Garde traces the largely overlooked journey of this exceptional woman, who was a prolific painter, magazine editor, collaborator with her husband Fernand Léger, resistor, museum builder, and passionate communist activist. L’exposition suit son itinéraire de son village natal biélorusse à Paris, les influences qu’elle a subies et les communautés artistiques qu’elle a côtoyées. Grâce à des dialogues inédits avec les œuvres de Fernand Léger, Pablo Picasso, et des élèves de l’Atelier Léger (Nicolas de Staël, Hans Hartung, Marcelle Cahn…), l’exposition explore l’univers de cette adepte des aventures collectives.
