Mons en Lumières | Between earth and sky

After a successful first edition, Mons en Lumières will be back for a second edition in early 2025. For eight evenings, from 30 January to 2 February and from 6 to 9 February, Mons will be transformed with a magnificent 3 km light trail, including around 20 installations. This year’s theme ‘Between earth and sky,’ creates a poetic dialogue between nature and the universe. The guest of honor is Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, known for his impressive installations with natural materials.

Supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Mons en Lumières offers an unique experience, inviting the public to follow a fascinating and enchanting itinerary featuring some twenty installations and light projections carefully designed in synergy with artists and local and regional businesses to blend harmoniously into the urban setting and architecture of the historic center. The City of Mons will be adorned with these luminous creations, immersing visitors in a magical and immersive atmosphere.

Open to all and entirely for free, the route will be filled with works by local, national and international talent, as well as the installation by guest artist Tadashi Kawamata.

This program is part of the 2021-2027 ERDF “En Mieux” initiative.
