What if the most familiar gestures of our everyday lives could help us better understand artistic creation? With How Is It Made?, organised by BeCraft at the Anciens Abattoirs in Mons from 22 November 2026 to 14 February 2027, visitors are invited to discover applied arts from a practical and accessible perspective. Through the works of 60 artists and makers from Wallonia and Brussels, the exhibition explores a wide range of words describing gestures, actions and techniques that are often closely connected to our everyday lives. Knotting, cutting, smoothing, dipping, stretching… Behind every creation lie skills, techniques and choices that shape its unique character. An invitation to see the works in a new light, by taking a behind-the-scenes look at how they are made.
