Libre Botanique, an extract from the Botanicum.um.m project by Créahm Liège, follows the exhibition Daniel Henry – Flowers Never Fade, presented in 2025 at the Centre d’art Les Drapiers. Essential and primordial forms, an inexhaustible subject in the history of drawing, flowers are here both celebrated and rediscovered. They come to life through painting and drawing under the free hands of Créahm artists Géraldine Beaupère, Luc Eyen, Alain Meert, and Michel Petiniot. Brought together, these images form a herbarium whose nature—observed or imagined—remains uncertain, pages torn from a scientific book read only by unruly children. And when words are added to the floral compositions, expressive drawing in its most immediate line meets botanical illustration, together reinventing the very form of the page. In the rooms of Les Drapiers, a garden will unfold—until now kept secret—of “sensual and sensorial flowers, majestic forests, and anchoring roots.”
