Libre Botanique, an excerpt from the Botanicum.um.m project by Créahm Liège, follows on from Daniel Henry’s 2025 exhibition Les fleurs ne fanent jamais at the Centre d’art Les Drapiers. Flowers – fundamental and primary forms, an inexhaustible subject in the history of drawing – are here both celebrated and rediscovered. Under the free hands of Créahm artists Géraldine Beaupère, Luc Eyen, Alain Meert, and Michel Petiniot, they come to life through painting and drawing. Together, these images form a herbarium that teeters between observation and imagination, like pages ripped from a scientific book read only by mischievous children. When words enter the floral compositions, the immediacy of expressive drawing meets botanical illustration, reinventing the very form of the page. In the halls of Les Drapiers, a once-hidden garden unfolds, filled with sensual, sensory flowers, majestic forests, and grounding roots.
