Building on the success of the BANAD Festival, held every spring, Explore.Brussels is further developing the ANTE Festival, whose first edition took place in 2025. The festival showcases the richness of Brussels architecture from the “long 19th century” (1780–1920), a period of more than a century of stylistic and technical change, transition, rupture and experimentation. Conceived as the counterpart to the BANAD (Brussels Art Nouveau Art Deco) Festival, it forms part of a broader ambition to structure the annual calendar around two complementary flagship events. Offering an immersive journey through the evolving landscape of architectural styles – from neoclassicism to eclecticism – the ANTE Festival highlights the roots of modernity and the remarkable richness and diversity of Brussels’ built heritage.
