In early 2024, the Wallonia capital of culture will create the biggest winter event in the South of the country: ‘Mons By Light,’ the very first light festival in Wallonia. Never seen before! For 8 evenings from 25 to 28 January and from 1 to 4 February, the historic and medieval center will be embellished with art and light by means of a 3 km route scattered with 27 installations. As part of the activities, a special guest: British artist, Robert Montgomery. Guaranteed to be amazing and memorable! ‘Mons By Light’ hopes to be a nationwide event, equipped with very substantial means to provide a unique experience for visitors. A fascinating itinerary has been created to include 27 installations and light projections carefully developed in harmony with the urban setting and architecture of the historic center. Accessible to all and completely free of charge, the route will highlight local, national and international talent. The light installations and enchanting projections are designed in collaboration with the artists, local and regional businesses, Mons residents and the general public.
