BPS22

From 20 May 2023, BPS22 presents the first major solo exhibition in Belgium by the Italian artist Pietro Fortuna. The sixth stage in his Glory exhibition cycle, this Belgian stopover will offer a kind of anthology of the artist's concerns. In 2010, Pietro Fortuna opened his cycle of exhibitions called Glory at Tramway in Glasgow, before continuing it at the Macro in Rome in 2011, at the Museo Marca in Catanzaro (2012) and at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome (2014). Now living in Brussels, Belgium, since 2015, he has conceived his exhibition in Charleroi as the finale of this cycle. New works, both sculptures and murals, will be displayed in the museum space of the BPS22. Like his previous series, they will originate from a deconstruction of figurative motifs, taken from images extracted from various media, then confronted with raw industrial materials.
