The famous Fragnée bridge in Liège, decorated by four statues of Titans carrying empty shells since the 1905 World Fair, is the subject of a temporary but monumental work of art. As part of the urban art project "Perles Universelles", from 28 April 2023, artist Maria Vita Gorel has designedfour pearls that each have a diameter of one meter that are installed on top of the the bronze shells of Victor Rousseau's statues in a poetic and contemporary context. At the same time, Les Drapiers is dedicating an exhibition to the artist, from 6 to 27 May 2023. It's an opportunity to better understand the project and discover Maria Vita Goral's work thanks to embroideries, drawings and engravings. Maria Vita Goral is a young Ukrainian artist living in Liège since 2017. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Lviv (UA) and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège (BE). She has participated in several international artist residencies and art workshops.
