Elias Cafmeyer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La pratique artistique d\u2019Elias Cafmeyer na\u00eet de sa fascination pour le d\u00e9veloppement urbain. Ses installations in situ aboutissent souvent \u00e0 des illusions tragicomiques qui remettent en question l\u2019utilisation et la repr\u00e9sentation de l\u2019espace public. Pour la Centrale | vitrine, Elias Cafmeyer plonge dans l\u2019histoire du d\u00e9veloppement urbain du quartier Sainte- Catherine et de son \u00e9glise. L\u2019actuelle \u00e9glise Sainte- Catherine est une deuxi\u00e8me version construite entre 1854 et 1874 \u00e0 l\u2019emplacement d\u2019un bassin de l\u2019ancien port de Bruxelles. L\u2019\u00e9glise originelle faisait partie des fa\u00e7ades de la rue Sainte-Catherine, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 se trouve aujourd\u2019hui la Centrale. Elias Cafmeyer r\u00e9introduit un fragment de l\u2019ancienne \u00e9glise pi\u00e9g\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de la Centrale. \u00c0 la mani\u00e8re du fa\u00e7adisme, pratique urbanistique utilis\u00e9e dans le quartier, seule la fa\u00e7ade est conserv\u00e9e. L\u2019ancienne \u00e9glise ressurgit tout en laissant apercevoir les espaces blancs du centre d\u2019art. R\u00e9duite \u00e0 un d\u00e9cor bidimensionnel, la fa\u00e7ade est l\u2019unique vestige d\u2019un b\u00e2timent vid\u00e9 de sa substance au profit d\u2019une nouvelle construction. En reproduisant un \u00e9l\u00e9ment historique de mani\u00e8re inexacte, Cafmeyer ajoute temporairement un autre artefact historique au quartier. Il cr\u00e9e un nouveau point de patrimoine touristique aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de la Tour Noire et de La Bellone. \u00c0 travers ce geste, Cafmeyer convoque les traces de d\u00e9veloppement urbain du quartier Sainte-Catherine.
