For more than sixty years, the portrait of Brigitte Bardot, painted in 1959 by Kees van Dongen, remained hidden in the artist\u2019s studio. It is now being presented to the public once again. This large oil on canvas (130 \u00d7 97 cm), with a yellow background characteristic of the artist\u2019s palette, comes directly from his estate. The work is estimated at \u20ac800,000 to \u20ac1,200,000 and is among the highlights of the SELECTED 20\/21 sale, organized by Artcurial on 24 October, in parallel with Art Basel Paris. On this occasion, eighteen works by Kees van Dongen from his estate will also be presented.
