During Art Basel Paris week, Artcurial unveiled the second edition of its Selected 20\/21 sale \u2014 a session dedicated to Modern and Contemporary Art that brought together collectors and art enthusiasts around 27 exceptional works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Conducted by Arnaud Oliveux, the sale achieved an impressive total of \u20ac9,708,940 \/ $11,286,157 (including fees), with the room filled to capacity.<\/p>\n
Among the day\u2019s highlights, a pair of bronze sculptures by Alberto Giacometti realised \u20ac2,189,600 \/ $2,545,301 (including fees). Fernand L\u00e9ger\u2019s Composition murale was acquired for \u20ac820,880 \/ $954,232, while Marc Chagall\u2019s Maternit\u00e9 sur fond bleu reached \u20ac741,440 \/ $861,887. Further notable results included Anish Kapoor\u2019s Mirror, which fetched \u20ac688,480 \/ $800,324, and Alexander Calder\u2019s Cock\u2019s comb, sold for \u20ac529,600 \/ $615,633 (including fees).<\/p>\n
Another remarkable result came from Ossip Zadkine\u2019s monumental sculpture La Force atomique, which doubled its estimate at \u20ac205,576 (estimate \u20ac100,000\u2013150,000).
