The Mus\u00e9e L, a young university museum where scientific collections and works of art are combined in dialogue, for unprecedented emotions.
\nLocated less than 30 km from Brussels, in Louvain-la-Neuve, the new museum of the Catholic University of Louvain (UCLouvain), Mus\u00e9e L, opened on 18 November 2017 in a completely renovated building. It is the first ever large-scale university museum in Belgium, covering more than 3,830 m2 accessible to the public. What makes it special? The dialogues between the works, the unique scientific collections of UCLouvain and 3 labs where the public can manipulate the works.
\nA Buddha next to a Christ from the Middle Ages, ancient writings next to calculating machines… The Mus\u00e9e L, with its 20,000 items in its inventory, dares to have unusual encounters to tell us about the world and our humanity. It is not only works of art that can be seen here, but also the scientific collections of the UCLouvain.
