MILL – musée ianchelevici la louvière

Renowned as a museum on a human scale, with one of the richest communal art collections in Wallonia, the Mill invites you to come face-to-face with a selection of its treasures on the theme of portraiture. Sometimes it takes days... weeks... for an artist to capture the moment when the subject reveals his or her emotions, an intimate moment, free from the constraints of appearance or prejudice... Sometimes, on the contrary, it's in the immediacy that the magic of the captured moment emerges. It is this quintessence, this pure beauty of the moment frozen in time, that the artist expresses and that the Musée's viewer can, in turn, experience. The exhibition's scenography invites visitors to perceive this unique, suspended moment. Slowing down, observing, stopping to create, in all simplicity, a personal, emotional and universal dialogue with the work of art in front of them.
