Jean-Michel Crapanzano - Werner Moron

From 10/09/2022 to 23/10/2022 - PREVIEW: : 10/09/2022

Two artists, two backgrounds, two personalities, but the same desire to approach art from the perspective of participation. Jean-Michel Crapanzano and Werner Moron take up residence at La Châtaigneraie in September 2022. An opportunity to discover the worlds of these two engaged and committed visual artists! The multimedia artist Jean-Michel Crapanzano presents excerpts and illustrations from his graphic novel, not yet published, "Les empires invisibles / les territoires post-humain". This novel raises questions such as: Who could be the human beings of tomorrow? How could our societies evolve? How to prevent dangers and how to initiate solidarity? ... From her orbital station in 2350, Alicia, the main character of the novel, invites us to reflect on these questions. Visitors are invited to participate in the writing of a common scenario describing the future of the possible evolution of humanity. This scenario and contemporary objects will then be sealed in a time capsule. Buried in the vicinity of La Châtaigneraie, it will be opened in 2350. With this project, Jean-Michel Crapanzano inaugurates a new era of his artistic work dedicated to futurology as a means of connecting and binding citizens of all backgrounds around common and federative projects. Werner Moron varies as much his exhibition venues as his modes of intervention, for his next project at La Châtaigneraie he proposes a multidisciplinary and engaged installation on the floors of the Art Center. In parallel to the presentation of his own work, the artist from Liège invites three young students from the Ecole supérieure des Arts de la Ville de Liège to express themselves alongside him. Around the questioning of the professionalization of the status of artist, they will build together this participative project during the summer 2022 within the Center.
