Exhibition Adrien Lucca

From 20/05/2023 to 27/08/2023 - Press visit : 20/05/2023

Since his beginnings, Adrien Lucca (FR, 1983) has been developing a body of work aimed at exploring visual perception, using a specific method at the intersection of art and science. Although he studied visual arts at the École de Recherche Graphique (ERG) in Brussels, it is as a self-taught artist that he analyses and practices the sciences (mathematics, physics, colorimetry, computer science) in order to revisit painting through light. By using advanced technologies, with a constant aesthetic concern and with a visual aim, he shapes colour and light to challenge our common sense and question our understanding and interpretation of reality. He confronts the viewer with devices that provoke a direct, physical and sensory experience of the objects he designs and the place that hosts them. For his first solo exhibition in a museum, Adrien Lucca presents, at the BPS22, in the Pierre Dupont room, a large immersive installation in which each visitor is confronted with the limits of his own sensory perception. Upstairs, alongside sculptural works, models and samplings based on his most recent research, the artist is also exhibiting older works that allow visitors to discover his career since 2011.
