From November 19, 2023 to February 18, 2024, BeCraft and Keramis join forces to offer an unparalleled dive into Belgian ceramics, from the evolution of its teaching to its place in art history. Entitled Mentors, the exhibition takes place at the Anciens Abattoirs in Mons and at Keramis (La Louvière). It features ceramics teachers who have left their mark on the history of ceramics teaching in Belgium, as well as on its artistic practice. Thanks to this partnership, this double exhibition aims to provide an unprecedented panorama of the practice and teaching of ceramics in Belgium from the 20th century to the present day. The central question of transmission is revealed in the form of a genealogy in which past and present are articulated through a territorial network covering both the north and south of the country.
