The Ateliers du Monceau and de l'Avenir celebrate 35 years of industrial wood solutions

Vom 07/09/2021

At the start of the academic year, the Ateliers du Monceau et de l'Avenir are preparing to celebrate their 35th anniversary and take this opportunity to take stock of their years of success and growth. Today, they exemplify economic success built on social values, revealing their vision for the future, a vision centered on people. In figures, the year 2021 should be dominated by a cumulative turnover of around 7 million euros. In order to achieve this, the various workshops are working hard. More than 25,000 custom pallets will be produced, mainly for the steel industry. With regard to the wooden construction part, which will be made more difficult after 2020 by the now known circumstances, more than 10,000 m2 of wooden frame will be prefabricated this year. In terms of circularity, as many as 15,000 pallets are repaired every week, which is 15% more than the year before, with the ambition to grow this volume further by increasing the sorting capacity and hiring new workers. It should also be noted that the electrical needs, which have been partially covered for many years, will continue to be produced by the installation of almost 2,000 photovoltaic panels by 2022, i.e. 40% of the needs. Alain Klinkenberg, Managing Director of the Ateliers du Monceau & Managing Director of l'Atelier de l'Avenir says: "When our order book is full, we want to continue to outdo ourselves by offering increasingly sophisticated contemporary products while developing circularity in 360 degrees." Alain Klinkenberg started 35 years ago with the creation of the workshops and ensured their growth from 7 to 150 employees by following the evolution of the market with a vision. His project was - and remains for the future - to integrate an adapted work company into an innovative, sustainable and profitable economy but also to develop the skills of deaf people in appropriate, adapted and challenging work.
