Exhibition Brussels - Young generation of contemporary African artists

From 12/05/2021 to 04/06/2021 - CPI : 11/05/2021

From May 12 to June 4, Artcurial Brussels will present a selection of contemporary African art in its spaces on Avenue Franklin Roosevelt, which will be auctioned in Paris on June 15, 2021. These works illuminate the way in which artists from the African continent are reinterpreting the genre of 'portrait', echoing the considerations that occupy younger generations of Africans around the world. These artists, rarely presented in Belgium, live and work in Cameroon, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa or Zimbabwe, and are emerging figures in the African contemporary art market. For several years now, a young generation of African artists has been making a sensational entry into the international market. Artists from all over the continent are catching up, taking up an increasing place in galleries, auction houses and institutions around the world.
