Result of two in-depth and inspired projects, like all those bearing the signature of the Brazilian photographer João Farkas, the exhibition "Brazil - Land & Soul Land" will open at the Brazilian Embassy in Brussels on May 23, 2019 at 18:30. As the photographer says, "Being invited to exhibit outside of my country is an opportunity to show Brazilian photography, one of the strongest, most significant and most creative in the world." The photographer will show 40 unpublished images from the "Pantanal" series, all made in the past five years to serve as a sensitive warning message. "The thundering beauty of this Brazilian region is perceived as distant, untouched and indestructible. Which is not true. We also feel the effects of the anthropocene, the deep action of man on the planet."There will also be photographs from the project « Caretas de Maragojipe », based on the inventory of masks of carnival of the city of Maragojipe (BA) during five carnivals, and this project served as a visual basis for the design of the Carnival Museum, inaugurated in Salvador last year, under the guidance and curating of Gringo Cardia .
