As part of the fourth edition of its Biennial of Contemporary Design, Intersections, ADAM is welcoming part of the design collection of the Province of Hainaut managed by the CID – centre of innovation and design at Grand-Hornu from 16 September 2016 to 5 February 2017. A collection that traces the history of design exhibitions that succeeded in the former colliery since the mid-80s.
In 2016, the collection holds almost 500 references of various types (furniture, lighting, vases and other table objects) kept in the Grand-Hornu reserves. Fundamental work on inventorying and putting the collection online was recently started by the CID teams. In a setting that replicates the shelving system in a museum, the exhibition CID & friends presents 150 pieces from this collection, illustrating the complicity and friendships born in the context of the programming.
