Brussels Design Market was founded 15 years ago. Initially it was simply a flea market exclusively devoted to productions from the 50s to the early 80s. Today, Brussels Design Market is considered one of the best events in Europe dedicated to vintage design of the 20th century. Twice a year, in March and September, Brussels Design Market welcomes 100 exhibitors and over 7.000 visitors in an exceptional and very famous location: Sheds 3 and 4 of Tour & Taxis - home to the largest Belgian cultural events, shows and fairs. The Brussels Design Market was founded more than 15 years ago by three people who are fascinated by vintage design, including Thierry Belenger, who is still in charge of the organisation. Over the years, Brussels Design Market has evolved as the biggest vintage design market and quickly became one of the not to miss events in the calendar of international vintage design. For the 25th edition of Brussels Design Market and the 80th anniversary of the artist, an exhibition is dedicated to the creations of the ceramist Georges Pelletier. His luminaires, totems and atypical mirrors are easily recognisable thanks to their handcrafted details, resulting in a unique sculptural work. Recently his work has been rediscovered thanks to dealers and interior designers who bring a tribute to his work. Georges Pelletier continues making new sculptural pieces but also reproduces his successful pieces from the 60s. As an internationally renowned artist, he is represented by various galleries while many exhibitions are dedicated to his work.
